From the web site: "Eric Ross began in 1993 with two award winning shooters for San Francisco’s two competing daily newspapers. Missing photos while yakin about wine at baseball games they decided it was time to play ball! Now with John retired from Eric Ross, Eric continues on as the original winemaker committed to producing wines with big personalities and heartfelt passions. Eric produce's some of the finest wines in California at the Eric Ross Winery."

Personal comments: This is a charming tasting facility with friendly staff. It is also located just across the road from Jack London Village, which has several interesting shops (olive oil, chocolate, cheese) and great options for lunch or dinner (Himalayan, barbecue, or wine country lunch fare). Of the wines I tasted at Eric Ross on a visit in November 2009, the 2006 Pinot Noir (Saralee's Vineyard) was exceptional, and well worth the price. - Roy Tennant
