Personal comments: This winery is the birthplace of wine-making in California. It is where Agoston Harazthy from Hungary first established commercial wine growing (the Spanish missions grew grapes for sacramental wine long before). The history is well worth a visit alone, even disregarding the wines themselves. - Roy Tennant
